Drunkenness.—James Clifford and Edward M'lntosli, for being drunk in Walker street on the previous night, were eaeli fined ss, with the alternative of being imprisoned for 24 hours.

Stealing Fruit.'—Margaret Moran, of Pall Mall, and Jane Wilson, of Filleul street, two respectable looking women, were charged with stealing fruit from the garden of W. W. M'Cardie, at the Glen, on Friday afternoon. It appeared that the defendants had got through ,1 fence into prosecutor's garden, and when discovered were not only helping themselves to the fruit, but were about to carry a quantity away with them. His Worship marked his sense of their conduct by fining them £5 each.

Cjiakge of bkixg Ijxec ally ox Premises.—A charge against-Walter Rogers of being illegally on the premises of Charles W. Flexman, at Kaikorai Valley, at nine o'clock at night, was adjourned, to give defendant

an opportunity of calling a witness who, lie said, would show that he had gone there on business.

Bye-law Cases.—Charges against John Pringle and J. T. Roberts, of permitting nuisances to exist on their premises, were dismissed, the nuisances complained of having been abated.
