THE PLEBISCITE.
Below we give the result of the polling at the plebiscite on Monday with regard to the Gas Question. The three questions asked the ratepayers were as follows :— ■ I.—Are you in favour of building gas works ? 2.—Are you in favour of purchasing the present works (if obtainable) for the sum of 1/22,000 ? 3.—Are you in favour of accepting a fresh contract for lighting the city lamps at a reduced rate '? • The following shows the state of the poll: — ...... .
