The briar at the Head.-* on Monday evening, proved to hu the Union from Hobart Town; she came u»> this morning as near to the anchorage as the wind allowed. The passage has been a protracted one, since July 23rd. The ran from Hobart Towj» to the Inlands was made in seven day 3: from fhat point she had light easterly winds until sbe made Cap? Sh? got away on Monday, hit ym* back as the T.lnd and foul weather from the S.W. increased. She sails early. . Along with her a large boat, bound from the Taieri lor Stewart's Island, also arrived here wind bound.

According to advices received, a "vessel named the Carlotta, is expected soon here, direct from New "York. „ " " . The Samson and Lady Barkly both went to \Sraikonaiti to-day, each with a few passengers. Tn a few days, there is little doubt, the passenger traffic hi this direction will considerably increase.
