The AVood, although paid for by weight, according to the Tender, must be delivered ; by measurement, and stacked for that purpose by the Contractor on delivery ; 71 cubic feet being considered , equivalent to a ton of 2240 lbs. It will be optional with the Commissariat to bring Coal into more general use, and reduce, or even discontinue the demand for Firewood altogether, should , such a change become advisable.
