Peh Pniss Association. Received April 11. at 10 p.m. Sydney. April JI. Tin- manager of .Messrs, Norton. Griffiths, examined regarding tlic alleged navnicnt of commissions in connection with their contracts, denied that any moncv had been paid or liroiniscd on bchal'r of the firm or any Government officer or Minister. Mr Holman gave evidence as to the Cabinet's consideration of the oil scheme, and detailed the events which led up to the appointment of the Commission. _ In reply to a question, Mr Holman said he had no knotrlcdge of any wrong proceedings in connection with the matter. He stated that when Mr Griffiths was informed of the allegations he showed (he natural indignation of a man accused of an atrocious thing. Regarding the allegation that the Ministry got £65.000 out of the Xorlon. Griffiths" contract. Mr Holmnn declared that there was not a tittle of troth in such a rumor. He had no suspicion thntumy member of the Government or Parliament, or any official was implicated in any way as suggested.
