LAND BOARD.

At this weefc-'s meeting of the Laud Board the following matters concerning this district were dealt with:— Mr Thomas A. Munro applied to select on the renewable lease system section 9, block I, Benmore district, containing 8a 3r 30p.—Approved, subject to Governor's approval under section 129 of "The Land Act, 1908," at the rental quoted. Tlie Board was requested to determine how the afforestation reserve of 12,179 acres on Benmore run should bo dealt with, it having been applied for in whole or in part by tlie following persons:—Mr Frederick Kenny, Annie E. Hardv, Annie E. Ryan, Mr Alexander M'Kinnon, Mr Thomas M'Cone, Mr J. R. Franklin, Mr A. M'Goun, and Mr Hugh D. M'Cully.— Besolved to call for tenders for a year to year lease, the area to be cut into three lots. . Mr Archibald Valentine applied to lease two islands in the Waitaki Kiver containing about 700 acres, for which he offered a rental of £lO a year.— Approved of year-to-year license at rental offered, subject to proof of enlistment. The transfer was approved of sublease section 1 of 56, block IX, Oauiaru, U acres, Mr William Henderson to Sir Alex. James Gilchrist. Other applications to transfer were dealt with as follows: — Section 12a. Kauroo Hill settlement, 213 a 3r 13p, Mr Thomas I/. Slater »to Messrs T. S. Wilson and Fredk. D. Allan. —Recommended for approval. Run 201 a, Omarama, 30,520 acres, Marion }. M'Nair to Mr Hector Gibson.—Declined. Section 60a, Otekaike settlement, 413 ac 3r 12p, Mr R. C. Cook (as executor of Mr John Stoneham Adams) to Mr Peter -W. M'Gradie.—Resolved. to recommend for approval, provided improvements brought up and 1 postponed rent paid up. Section 9a, Totara settlement, 119 a 3r 39p, application to substitute Mr J. G. Kirton for Mr W. E. Kirton as transferee. —Withdrawn. Pastoral Licenses Renewed:—Runs 109, 255, 217 c, Waitaki County; Run 233, Vincent and Waitaki Counties; Run 459 a, Waitaki County: Run 362b, Waitaki County. The forfeiture of section 24a. Steward settlement, Mr ißrnest Riddell, 480 a lr si>,' was rescinded. The Board was requested to authorise the Receiver of Land Revenue to pay to <Mr Ernest Wilson, former lessee, the sum of £1 10s, deposited by Mr f Albert Wilson, new licensee of section .17, block XXI, Town of Herbert Approved.
