DETECTIVES HOAXED.
CHILDREN COMMIT DARING BURGLARY. - [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received June 4, at 10.25 a.nr^ Sydney, June 4. A woman living at North Sydney went to Woywoy for a week-end and left two sons, aged eight and ten, in charge of their father. When their mother returned she found that her house had been ransacked and the Wardrobes forced, while nearly £2OO worth of jewellery and electro-plate was missing. The police were advised, and detectives instituted an enquiry. Two black masks and two revolvers were found under the bed, and all the circumstances pointed to an a_udacioi.is robbery, but the finger prints on the window proved to-be those of a child. Questions followed, and the boys admitted their guilt, explaining that while their father was at work they held up the house, and removed the valuables to a hiding- place underneath the house, where the property was found, to the delight of the owners and the embarrassment of the officials.
