BOMB-BY-POST CRIME.

THREE PERSONS KILLED. LONDON HUNT FOR FUGITIVES. New Scotland Yard has joined with the police across Europe in the search for two fugitives "wanted" at Debreczen, in Hungary, on a triple murder charge arising out of a bomb-hy-po,st crime. To the person bringing both to justice a sum of 10,000 Hungarian crowns (£ISOO in English gold) will be paid, or for the. arrest of one, 10.000 crowns. These two men, using the false na-mes of Silvio Mandasesca. and Todur Auram, went to a place called Suernowitz, in Bukovine, and from there are alleged to have planned and carried out a plot with the greatest cleverness.

One day the Bishop Miklossy, of the Greek Catholic Church, received at the c-hnncpry of the bishopric a letter signed with what is believed to be a fictitious name and conking from: a fictitious address at Czernowitz, in which the writer said that lie was sending in addition, a leopard skin as a personal gift to the bishop, and a- silver-gilt candelabra for the cliurcb. A parcel, the value- of which on the postal voucher was stated to be about £4O, was delivered nest, morning at the chancery. The bishop, who was in -another room, to which circumstance he owes his life, requested the episcopal vicar to open tbe parcel. This he did. The parcel doubtless aroused general curiosity in the chancery, and in opening the packet the vicar was assisted by several others. Wrapped up in an imitation leopard •skin was a largish wooden box, firmly nailed down. Hardly had an iron instrument been inserted in order to prise it open when an explosion of great violence took place, and three. persons, including the vicar, the bishop's secretary, and another, were killed. Seven persons were also seriously injured. The vicar's daughter,. -on hearing of her father's terrible end, /became temporarily insane. An expert who examined the remains of the infernal machine, stated that it was of simple but careful construction, and contained 15 to 16' kilograms of nitro-glycerine. While ■incimries were being made as to the motive for the, outrage and its perpetrators, the two men referred to disappeared, and warrants were immediately issued for their arrest. They are believed to have made hurried flight to Brussels, with the object, it is thought, of escaping-, to London.
