'lt was shown by tlie evidence that the dog, irritated by the remarks of the parrot, which lived next door, llad leaped the fence ,and killed the bjrd by biting it in the neck. The owner of the parrot, a boy-of thirteen, laid information against the dog, and, appeared im court to press for tlio death penalty. * When the judge passed sentence Mrs Kravarick made an impassioned appeal for meixjy for iier dog. "That crazy parrot lias been yelling ' dirty pup'at my dog for six months," she declared with tears streaming down her face, but the judge, though affected bv her grief, could Tiold out no hope of a reprieve. •
