Mr. Fit& rows motion to adjourn raised' the question of Vice-Admiral Bridgeman's-reV-situation. , V ■■'.; Lord Beresford disclaimed party feeling, or that he was not friendly with Vice-Admiral Bridgeman, who had: ob--jected to Lord Beresford's creation as Admiral of the. fleet;. but : there .was.; much feeling in the navy over the mat-; ter of Admiral Bridgeman, who was the fifth Sea Lord whom Mr Churchill had! dismissed. Admiral Wilson.receivedthe, same sort of insolent letter. He added, that Vice-Admiral Bridgeman had been, dismissed because 'he differed on;, technical matters.. " . , '■:■':> Air Churchill replied that Lord Beresford did not mean to be offensive, as he really was. He was an orator" who did; not know what-he was going to say.. His gross, scurrilous charge was unsup-. ported bv any evidence. Vice-Admiral Bridgeman had, given written assent to every act of naval policy requiring it, : but his health was quite unequal to-the; strain of his duties, and an attack ot; bronchitis followed appendicitis. Mr Churchill accordingly consulted the: : Premier and •'•the King.
