Auckland, October 26. • At a .mass meeting of Huntly miners to-day, Mr Semple, the Federation pi-- ! iranis'er. advised the men to resume 'work' on Tuesday, Monday being Ijabor Day, on the supposition that they would lse taken back on the conditions formerly existing. In the. meantime the Federation will maintain on strike pay_the members of the Executive Committee dismissed as a result of a holiday being, taken to join in the demonstration against the imprisonment of the Waihi strikers. Ho had no reason to suppose that the Taupiri.Coal Company would refuse the men employment, and barring the dismissed Executive the trouble may ! be regarded as practically ended.
