BUSINESS PROGRESS.

ALTERATIONS AT THE FARMERS' CO-OP. Increasing business demands' extra convenience. This has. been the experience of the North Otago Farmers' Cooperative Association, who have found it necessary to remodel their upstairs department's in order to meet the ioquiiements of a rapidly expanding business. By'the changes that have been effected' the showroom has been given a position more in keeping with its "unique importance, and this was accomplished bv utilising the floor space, 70 feet by 30 feet, hitherto known as tho furniture department. The new showroom, in which are displayed the marvellous creations -of the milliner and the costumier, affords space for carrying on the Association's extensive business in these, lines under conditions that will be -more pleasing to'patrons. The department hitherto' known as the millinery department now becomes the footwear and -men's clothing department; whili* the furniture now occupies the department vacated by the boots-and men's clothing. It is worthy of note that the. upstairs .departments of the Co-op.'s business can.now-be reached by a,n easygraded stairway leading from the grocery and ironmongery departments, the desire of the~rnanage:ment evidently being to run the retail business on lines that will give the least inconvenience to patrons.
