KA Y WARDS'. PICTURES. The n'-.w programme for Hay wards' to-night should prove interesting, •it is difficult to select a number as an outstanding feature of -the series, all the dramatic section being particularly good. "Nat Pinkerton "and the Bank Thieves" is a. verv eloverly worked out story, not overdone. The conclusion showing the detective's ability and criminal plot ami intrigue is really good. "The Bell ot ■lsonan.cc" and "The Vagabonds" .are a couple of subjects from the Kakin studios, and each has most distinctive merits in its class. The former- has some charming scenic studies woven into its strong story. One of the most popular pictures of the evening will be "Willie's Sister," in. which a college' boy, a proctor, the boys' schoolmates, his sister and her hubby provide many a laughable situation. The- remainder of tire entertainment comprises scenic, topical and comedy films, all of a. high class. The orchestra is tuneful, anel .appropriate Selections will help along what promises to be a mcr.ry evening. : UNIVERSAL PICTURES. The Opera House was well filled again on Saturday night and a good audience was present at the matinee. The pictures screened, we:e well up to the usual high, standard set by Messrs Fuller and Sons, and, aided by the almost perfect projection, by the new machine and the ■tuneful music of the orchestra, provided an. entertainment that must have met with the appreciation of all present. The "star" drama was tire Vita.graph Company's production entitled "The Child Ci-usoes." an excellently-acted inveline picture. The Essanay Company's Wild West story "The Outlaw Deputy" proved a stirring production, interest being added by the views of the rugged: scenery amidst which the film had been taken. "Their Burglar, the Thanho-user Company's comedy, caused roars of laughter, as also did "Tweeufc-dum's- Monkey" and "Santan Bent on Mischief." -'Bo6llo* 111 British' India." "Life o-:: the Honey Bc-e, and "A Carnival at Nice" pioved very I instructive. The rest of the .programme ablv supported the pictures mentioned.
