From returns collected by the De- | pai tment of Agriculture during OctoIht and November, the areas under crop for the current year are estimated as follows: — For threshing only: Wheat, 215,528 acres: oats. 403.008 su-res: barley, 31.644 acres: maize. &19-! acres; peas, Üb9lG acres. Intended' to »e cut for seed: Ryegrass, 77,535 acres: cocksfoot, 38.297 acres; clover, 6610 acres. Sown, or intended to be sown, this season: Potatoes, 28,248 acres; turnips, 410,202 acres; mangolds, 19,764 acres; rape, 213,691 acres. !
