Wellington, December 21. -' Very poor weather has been experienced so far this summer.- An. occasional warm day is- experienced, but no hot-ones. There are continuous heavy winds, generally cold, and much rain. This week has' been more like winter than summer, with cold, wet southerlies. It is.still raining to-day.

Weather summary and forecast: — The barometric pressure has decreased everywhere, and rain, has fallen in most parts of the country, strong northerly wind predominating. The present indications are for changeable and showery weather generally, strong westerly winds prevailing northward of Westport and Kaikoura, and easterly and south-easterly winds elsewhere. The barometer is very unsteady, but is due to rise shortly everywhere.
