(Per Press Association.) Wellington. December -0. Tlie City Council had- a discussion last night over a request by the Tramways Union to remove an inspector. The Appeal Board decided against this official in a case which he had brought against an employee. By a majority of one the Council, in committee, decided to transfer the inspector to another position on the ground of want of tact. A further discussion followed, and the resolution was upheld by the casting vote of the -Mayor. Notice was immediately given to rescind this. During the debate mention was made of threats by the Union, which were denied, but it is also stated that the Union has held meetings on the subject, and if the Council does not takeaction which satisfies them further meetings will follow'.
