FARMERS' UNION RIFLE SHOOTING.
To the Editor.
' Sir, —I write to ask whether you would, use .vour influence' to get the picked' New Zealand Bislev teamaltered before it is too late, as the general consensus of opinion in South Canterbury is that' the Goodwood Farmers' Union should be respectfully asked to go Home in a body at the expense of the New Zealand Government. Very few of us know where Goodwood is, but a team of-such remarkable shooting ability should be encouraged to the farthest limit of the Dominion's resources. I would urge upon the Government the apparent fact that compulsory training is now unnecessary, as the Goodwood team alone with their ability to hit six-inch bull'seyes absolutely without fail from a kneeling position at 200 and 300 yards, to sav nothing of the lying position at 500 yards, should effectually stop the progress of an invading T „J? 111 ' etc. SHOOTISi.
