Or Hardwicke Smith, medical superintendent, submitted a report to the Wellington Hospital Board' recommending that the Board control the investigation and prevention of disease in accordance with .the clause in the new Hospitals Act, which stipulates that such hoards shall take over such work. The Board resolved to appoint two inspectors at a salary of travelling expenses, the Public Health Department to be asked to take over the supervision of these officers.for the time being.
