IMPROVED BUSINESS METHODS.

The ball cash railway system which has been installed in tho premises of Messrs John Bulleid and Co. was set in motion yesterday afternoon and found to work satisfactorily in every respect. Tho system comprises I'2 stations, each department being reached from n cash desk and distributing fltartion in tho offico. Hitherto mucli inconvenience resulted owing to the assistants themselves'having to visit the cash desk, in some cases a great distanco From llieir departments. The new system will savo tho employees a great dual of physical exertion; while patrons will benefit owing to tho fact that their wants can now be rnoro expeditiously attended to. The installation is one of the largest of its kind in' the Dominion, the longest of the six double lines running from the desk being 120 feet and tho shortest -10. Tho responsibility of installing the system was entrusted to Mr G. Donald, of Sydney, as representative of the Lamson Despatch Company, Wellington, and tho work, it may be mentioned, has been carried out with complete satisfaction to the firm. A substantial cash desk to special specifications lias been erected in the counting house, tho operator being elevated to the height of tho distributing stations.
