ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.) Wo ihi, December 2. George Sin.irt, a hairdresser and tobacconist, was found dead in a chair in' his saloon. His premises had been nlosed up l'or two days, when the police forced an entrance last night. Tile circumstances of his death are not rightly known, and the police are investigating. The deceased leaves a wile and young family. -
Christchiirch, December 2. At an inquest on Thomas Mitchell, who died suddenly on the Opawa train last night, the police report stated that deceased was believed to be a broker of Elliot street, Auckland, but very little ivas known of him m Christcbureh He had only been in the city two or three days. " Claude Ferrier stated that lie had known deceased for over 20 years. Yesterday he appeared to be in excellent spirits and health. Witness had never heard him complain of being ill. Medical evidence was given by Dr Syiues, who had niade the post mortem examination. He found the heart greatly enlarged and fatty. All the valves were more or less diseased. Deceased presented the usual signs of death from heart disease. The coroner returned a verdict of death from heart disease.
