PIGEON FLYING.
The North Otaao Pigeon Flying Club flew 'a race from Christchurch yesterday, *an airline distance of 141 miles. Mr F. Wilson liberated" the birds in dull weather, with a 'slight"-north-east -wind "in their favor. The winner proved to 'be J. and E. Baker's Eclipse, the bird flying the .distance in 3hr, 15min—a velocity of'l27lyd Oft 2in>periminute,— au<i beating the second bird by the substantiall margiri/'of 24 -minutes. - The -thanks of the Club are due to Mr F.
