Iu the Assembly the Treasurer asked for supply till the end of November (when the new Parliament would be -expected to meet) totalling £5,315,000. He said the year had been extraordinarily prosperous, and had ended with a surplus of £981,000. The railway revenue had been £375,000 in excess of the previous year. Received July 28, at 9.45 a.m. Melbourne, July 2S. Mr Knox has resigned his seat in the Federal House, cm the ground of illhealth.
