WOOL SALES. (Per Press Association.) "Wellington, July 28. The following is the' High Commis- . sioner's cabled report of the London wool sales:—The wool sales closed with great competition for best quality wools, which are in small supply. There is active demand for coarse crossbreds all grades light and in the grease, and the decline in p~rice has recovered. 25,500 bales of Jicir Zealand wool were held over. The estimated values of superior merino is Is Id to'ls 3Ad; medium lOld to Is OJd; inferior ?id to lOd: line crossbreds, ail grades, s lid to Is 4d ; medium crossbreds, lid to Is Is; coarse crossbreds, all grades, Sid to lOid. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Co. to-day cabled the following report oil tiie frozen meat mar-ket:—-'Owing to heavy stocks the value of lamb has declined. 'To-day's prices are: Mutton —Canterbury 3-ld, I.Napier, Wellington and North Island 4 : ', d; lamb —iirst quality 3d, second 4ij'd; beef—hinds 3jd, fores 2j}d."
