BAZAAR AT HAMPDEN.
At Hampden on 21st, 22nd ™d 23xd of this month a most successful bazaai has been held with the object, of raising funds for the school. The bazaai iraa opened on Thursday +bo Mavor (Mr W. Nicolson), who is So San of the School Committee and has taken an active part in tin, makin" of arrangements. The managcent of the bazaar and concert was ett to a. committee of laches with Mrs Watt as president, and the great siiccess which attended, then; efforts blhtus plainly that their work was uell and faithfully performed. , The stalls were attractively arrange,l and good business was done at them. The following ladies were in Plain stall-Mesdames M'Allan and Craig; fancy-work—Mesdames W . Lcfevre and Robertson; fancy J ood ST Misses Watt and M<W f am, hsh pond—Misses Dawson and E. Douglas. Fortune-teller-Mrs Cleghorn • produce stall—Mrs J. Lefevre; sweet stall—ffisses Duncan and Murcott -refreshment stall-Mesdames Ward, Murcott, and Mathcson. , , Similar success attended the concert, the programme of which was as follows: Pianoforte solo, Mrs AC Dorbcs; song, | "Till Death," Mr Robertson; song, "Douglas Gordon," Mss Watt .(ei ; cored): song, "The King's Minstrel, ilv Robertson: song and tableau, "Three Old Maids of Lee/' by Misses E. and T. Lefevre and F. Ward (enthusiastically encored and re-encored ; dialogue, "The Fair Interviewer, bj Miss Watt and Mrs J. Lefevre Dining an interval of ten minutes the raffle of a picture, painted by Miss Watt, was drawn, Mr Crow, D.1.C., Diraedin, being the winner. The second part of the programme opened with a series of bcautifullyarraiK'cd tableaux from the "Sleeping Bcantv," in which about twenty school children took part. Miss Eileen Lefevre as the "Sleeping Beauty" and Mastei Gordon Aitchcson as the Prince. The next item was a comedietta entitled "One Too Manv for Him," the characters being taken by Messrs M. Marshall and Douglas, Mrs J. Lefevre, and Misses Ward and Watt. Tins was well <-ta"-ed all the performers acquitting themselves with credit. The last item was a march and song, "Good Night, bv the school children. "The accompaniments were played by Mrs A. C. Forbes and the nrasic for the dance by Mr Meldrum. Great praise is due to the ladies, and especially Mrs Watt for carrying through'a large undertaking so successfully. The takings at the bazaar and concert are expected to realise almost £IOO. „ ', At the conclusion oi the bazaar hearty votes of thanks were accorded all who had' performed at the concert and aided or contributed to the bazaar.
