MINING.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Awamoko Library Committee held their annual concert last night ii l . the Awamoko Public Hall. The night being beautifully clear, a large house was the result. The programme was one of the best that has been given rt Awamoko for some time.' All performers acquitted themselves in style quite above the ordinary. Mr Tluis. Johnston, Chairman of the Library Committee, occupied the chair, and after a few short and appropriate remarks proceeded with the programme, which was as follows:—Pianoforte chiet, Missos Aitchison and Johnston : song, Miss Mollison; song, Mr Nelson (encored) ; song, Miss M'Phee (encored); song, Mr Fricker; recitation, Mr Burnard; song. Miss Steven; song, Mr Wilson, (encored) ; song, Mr Chapman (encored); piano and cornet duet, Messrs Slierwin and Wisnesky; song, Miss M'Phee; song, Mr Wilson (encored); song, Miss Mollison (encored); song, Mr Fricker; song, Miss Steven; song, Mr Nelson; song, Mr Burnard (encored). The accompaniments were played by Mrs J. King, Miss Johnston, Mr Wisnesky. and Mr Hedges. At the conclusion if the programme the chairman thanked, all those who so kindly assisted to make, the concert such a success, more especially the performers, some of whom had come a long distance to assist the Committee with their programme. The usual dance after the concert took place, the music being supplied by Messrs Wisnesky (piano) and Sherwin (cornet). Mr H. Waters made an efficient M.C. as usual.
