The Oamaru Choral Society will resume practices in the Tees Street Hall on Monday evening next. The secretary will be at the Hall from 7.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the purpose of enrolling new members.

The subscription lists for the New Zealand Malay Rubber Co., Ltd., will close on Friday next, 29th inst. Intending investors are urged, to forward their applications by that date to Mr Piper, the provisional secretary. Prospectuses are also available from Mr Piper or from Mr W. Jardine, Wear street. The Salvation Army advertises : n this issue their annual concert and special band Sunday, which is being held on the 24th and 25th. The service < i song "Eva," advertised for Sunday night, is supposed to be one of ;lie finest in print, and in the hands of a good reader should be greatly enjoyed. Mr Milnor, Rector of the Hoys' High School, has kindly consented to preside at the concert and social on Monday night. The band does good work in our town in visiting the sick in the hospital and in their homes. Once a year they make an appeal to the public of Oaniaru for funds to purchase instrumonts and music. Wo wish them well, and trust they will have a very successful demonstration.
