DISAPPOINTING VIEW. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright..] (Per Press Association.) Received May 9, at 10.50 p.m. Sydney, May 9. Owing to the cloudy weather the eclipse was only imperfectly seen here. Hobcrt, May 9. It could not have been a gloomier day for the eclipse, which was not discernible her?. Received May 10, at 12.2-5 a.m. Sydney, May 9. The eclipse was well observed in some parts of the country. Melbourne, May 9. The eclipse was spoilt from a scientific standpoint by dense clouds, whicli flitted across the sun. It was seen weel in the country. Adelaide, May 9. Though the day was cloudy, it cleared during the eclipse, and a good view was obtained. Hob.ii't, May 9. After most elaborate preparations to observe the eclipse on Bruni Island, the sky was completely overcast. 'There was drizzling rain and darkness during the totality comparable to a starlit night. Twenty-six observers were engaged, but all in vain. [Much interest had been taken ir. the solar eclipse and astronomers from Europe came out in numbers to observe the phenomena.]
