Canada was now able to give preference to Jamaica and other colonies. -He emphasised the honorable compromise reached, and acr knowledged Mr Bryce's unfailing cooperation and support. He concluded that they had firmly refused to give the United States the whole of the French treaty list; but offered to reciprocate for special reductions below the minim urn-American tariff.
