PERSONAL.

•• A private cable announces the death in England by accident of Mr J. M. Dalrymple, M.8., Ch.B., resident doctor at the Birmingham City Infirmary. Mr Dalrymple was the only son of the Rev. A. M. Dalrymple, of Puerua, and was about 11 years ago a pupil at Waitaki High School, where, though quiet, he was popular with boys and masters alike. A cable states-that Sir William Macgregor, the Governor-elect of Queensland, who has been seriously ill, is progressing, but it will be some months before he is able to sail for Queensland.
