MEADOWBANK BOWLING CLUB.

SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL MEETING. The iimitiiil gathering of tlio members of tlio Meadowbank Bowling Club was successful in every way, the attendance being large and enthusiastic. Mr Miller (President) was in the chair.' The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted on the motion of the Chairman, who expressed his pleasure at the financial soundness and general progress of the Club, and hoped that the liability remaining would liavo disappeared by the next meeting. hi the discussion on the motion for adoption members regarded the debit balance of £4O as surprisingly small in vii-iv of the heavy expenditure during the year. The. condition of the. Club was considered to give cause for satisfaction. and members were not slow to express their feeling. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Ah' S. Mollison ; Vice-President, Mr J. S. Gordon; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Adam Maekny. The following committees were appointed : —Ground —Messrs Baker, Taylor, Whyte, E. Ferris, and D. Bee (convener); Match —Messrs Martin (convener), Taylor, I). Miller, Mackay, D. Bee ; Delegates to Centre —Messrs Miller and Mackay. It was decided to appoint a Ladies' Committee, subject, of course, to the approval of the fair sex nominated, to provide refreshments and conduct the social side of the Club, the average bowler being incapable of thinking of such lowly matters as tea while play is in progress. The following ladies were asked to assist: —Misses Miller, Mollison, Familton, and Martin. Seven new members/ were elected to the Club. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the. retiring President and officebearers, also to Mr Norman Lane permission to utilise the path through his ground to bowling green.
