Auckland -'-.Cricket. .Association's; district' championships' were advanced'another stage yesterday, when the tenth round was concluded. The day was beautifully fine, but, owing to the heavy rain of ihe week, the, wickets were soft, and no sensational scores were reported. The North. Shore team, in securing a three-point win over Eden Colts, further increased their lead in - tho Senior Championship, and their position is now practically unassailable. The.'following is the result of the day's plav in the Senior Grade: —North Shore v. "Eden Colts: North Shore, 283. Eden Colts—First innings, 57 (Alexander 24; Howden took six wickets for 35 runs and Jackson four for 19): second innings, 121 (Beach 21: Howden took sis wickets for 32 runs) ; North Shore won by; an innings and 105 runs —a three point win. University v. Grafton: University, 144 and 150 | for eight wickets (Wallace 3, sGray 25); Grafton : First innings, 116 (Mason 51; Robinson took five wickets for 55 ;ind Fawcett two for 10); University won by 28 runs on the first innings—a two point win. Eden A v. City: Eden A—First innings. 215 (Cummings (8, Brown KUiot 211; City, 54 and 98 (Gleeson 26: Stevens took seven wickets for 46 and .Mills two for_47; Eden A won by an iuninas and 65 runs—a three poins win. Parneil v. Ponsonby : Parneil 122 and 126 for two wickets, innings declared closed (Huehings 58 not- out, Somerville 44 not out); Ponsonby: First innings, 119 (M'Lelland 53, Humus 41; Hutchings took six wickets for 57); seconds inning.*, 58 for two wickets (Woods 34 not mil) :_ Parneil won on the first innings by 5 runs—a- two point win.
CIIRISTOHCRCH CRICKET. (Pun Pbess Association.) Christchurch, March 21. The tenth and final round commenced on grounds which were very soft owing to the rain. Sydenham gained a, substantial lead over'Liuwood, winners of the championship, by scoring 129 for seven wickets. Linwood were disposed of for 98. East and West- Christchurch played an even game. The hist mentioned made 127, of which D. Reese scored a lucky 50.' East Clmstehureh responded with 110 for six wickets, Ward playing well for 46 St. Albans put up a tine 213 against Riccarton. Bishop .playing a magnificent- innings for 156, which included eight 6's and 16 4's. At the call of _tiinc Riccarton had one wicket down for 52.
