West's Pictures.
Details of the pictures to be displayed at the opening of West Pictures and i.e Groen's Vice-Regal Orchestra season at the Municipal Opera- House to-night are published. The management have inaae an excellent selection of subjects, including scenes of travel, attractive pageants, dramatic sensations, industry studies, trick creations, and funny devices. Cliiei interest will be attached to -another of the West's "Our Navy" scenes, 'lhis very lengthy film, which is not to be confounded with other pictures of a- similar character depicts a recent review of the Fleet bv their Majesties the King and Queen in the Solent, and in addition to shewing the Fleet as it will appear in time of war, also including photos, of both the King and Queen. The whole series shows the course of training which the handy mail has- to undergo in time of piece, and in \ie\v of the great interest now being displayed in the Dominion and Australian Commonwealth in things in view of the suggestions for an Australian Navy, should prove of interest. Some fine scenic studies of coastal towns in the South of Fiance, the Astrakhan fishing industry, customs of the people of the' Tyrol, views of unknown Brazil, and a film shewing the 1908 Melbourne Cup are also announced to be shown, 'lhe more educational pictures will be interspersed with others of a lighter nature, amongst the comic creations being some really genuine laughter-provokers, The plan of seats is at the Dresden. A change of picture sand music is promised to-morrow night.
