OUR VOLUNTEERS

The following is the result of the O.im.'iru Roval Cadets' class firing. lne cmidit i ons were 10 shots at 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards, the highest possible score being 200 points: —

A team nf eleven men. representing the Ngapara Defence Club, journeyed to Waimate on Tuesday, 24th inst, to fire a match with the Studho-lme Mounted Rifles. Unfortunately the weather proved unpropitious, so much so that only eight of the local men turned up. The match was begun under a slight drizzle, which gradually grew worse until finally shooting was stopped when six men aside had fired two ranges, the honors them resting with the visiting team. The visitors were entertained at. dinner by the local team, HostTwomey providing a sumptuous repast. After cheers had been exchanged by the two teams, the visitors left for home, having enjoyed the day's outing in spite of Jupiter Pluvins. Folic wine; are the scores: NGAPARA RIFLE CLUB.
