LORD HAWKE'S TEAM v. MANAWATU. SBy Telegraph. Palmerston North, January 8. The match between Lord Hawke's team and a Manawatu eighteen was continued today in tempestuous weather. The Englishmen declared their first innings of 307 for seven wickets closed, and the Manawatu eighteen took the wickets. In their first attempt they managed to put together 105, L. Skelley 'being responsible for 30. Following on they added 72, L. Skelley being again top scorer with 24. Burnup, Thompson, and Bosanquet were the most successful bowlers for the Englishmen. The Englishmen won the match by an innings and 130 runs.
