The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports on the stock and grain market as follows : The entry at the Junction Yards of sheep was nvulo of half and threequarterbred ewes and lambs, fat ewes shorn and fat ewes in the wool, and crossbred hogge's in the wool The bidding at auction was very stiff for the store sheep, and a good few lots were withdrawn at auction, but were disposed of afterwards privately. We yarded and sold the following lots—l 67 half and threequarterbred ewes and lambs at 17s, 45 dry ewes at 12s, 231 ewes, crossbreds, and lambs at ISs, 71 fat ewes in the wool at 153 6d, 14 crossbred hoggets at 15s 6d, and 111 dry ewes in the wool at 13s 6d. Cur private sales during tho fortnight comprised a fair number of sheep, including a special line of 1000 ewes, with lambs at foot, at 2ls, and a line of 700 ewes, with lambs at foot, containing a proportion of dry ewes, at los 9d. There is good inquiry privately for suitable lines of sheep off the shears. Pigs—A full yarding came forward,- and tho demand slackened somewhat. We sold weaners at from lis to Us 9d.

Cattle—The yards were well filled with all classes, and owing to several outside buyors being in the field a good clearance was effected at excellent prices, late rates being well maintained.

Mr E. P. Burbury (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports as follows: At the Junction Yards yesterday there was not a great deal of business done. The entry in the sheep pens consisted of a few ewes and lambs and a few fat sheep. The demand was not so strong as ot late, little business being done under the hammer, most of the line* being disposed of afterwards privately. Fat ewes sold up to lis 9d, ewes and lambs up to ISs 6d per pair. Cattle.—Large entry and splendid demand. Some good sorts came forward and brought out some strong competition, all lines being cleared as most satisfactory rates. PRODUCE! REPORT. The past fortnight has again been a very dull period, so far as the produce business is concerned. There is at the present time very little inquiry, and consequently scarcely any business passing. Quotations for wheat, although really nominal, muet be given a Eliade weaker than last reported.
