(Br Klsctbio Telegraph—Oopybight.) (per united press association.) Received October 3, at 10 p.m. Shanghai, October 2. Owing to the attacks of the Chinese upon the British Legation and officials of the United States Legation, as well as upon American missionaries at Pekin, a force of marines belonging to the British squadroti have been ordered to proceed from Weihaiwei to the Chinese capital to protect foreign Legations. Russia is also sending a small detachment of Cossacks form Port Arthur for a similar purpose. Received October 3, at 11.45 p.m. Shanghai, October 3. Drunken crowds threw mud at the Europeans in Pekin. Sir Claude Mac Donald reports that there is a dangerous feeling prevalent. An American syndicate, at a cost of forty million dollars, will construct the Canton-Hankow.
