A collier was one day walking on the Earl of Derby's land. The Earl saw him and <•«>"« up to him and said : " My man, do yoa know that yoa are walking on my land?" "Well," said the collier, "I have no land of my own, so I am like to walk on somebody else's. vVhier did tha' get it fra 1" "I got it from my father," said his lordship. " Whier did thy fayther get It fra ? " said the collier. " From hia ancestors," said the EarL " Whier did they eet it fra 'i" he asked. " They foaghfc for it," said the Earl. "Well, then," said the collier, " I'll feight thee for it. 3 A million acres of forest are cat down every year to supply Earopean railway companies with Bleepers on J which the lines axe laid.
