c C.J.C. SPRIN3 MEETING. (by telegraph.) Christchurch, November 2. It was a raw morning and the track was heavy, on account of overnight's rain. Quiltiri, Fabulist, Voltigeur, Pom Pom, Defiance, Saracen, Black and Red, Lady Zetland, Lord Rosslyn, Lotion, and Mahaki were the Cup candidates worked. Day Star, The Shrew, Euroclydon and Aldershot were reserved for after breakfast work, when rain interfered. Lord Rosslyn, Lotion, and Mahaki together put in the strongest work over a mile and a quarter. Fabulist, Pom Pom, and Voltigeur ran the last lour furlongs of two rounds smartly. Day Star was backed on Saturday night to win several hundreds at 100 to 8.
