[BY TEIEGBAPK.'J (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCE. November 2. The weather is intensely cold and stormy, with a south-west wind blowing. It has been hailine; and raining, and snowing and rainiDg, at intervals since early morning. The weather shows no signs of clearing. A large influx of visitors is expected for carnival week and the accommodation at many of the hotels has been fully engaged. HASTINGS. October 31. Peter Ramsay, of Omahu, died this morning, at the age of 60. He came to New Zealand as one of the Black Watch 35 years ago, and has been in Hawke's Bay nearly all the time since. The Maoris are holding a great tangi. Deceased is to be buried with Masonic honors to-morrow.
