[by telegraph] (DAILV TIMES CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, M»rch 12. Mrs Hendri, who has succeeded in reorganising the Auckland Tailoresses Union, states that the feeling between employers and employees is of the must cordial character, and that the girls employed in the clothing factories hive taken up with enthusiasm the projects on foot for the amelioration of their working conditions. Mrs Hendri's reception has been of the most courteous nature at the hands of the employers, and the enrolment of girls is proceeding satisfactorily. Mrs Hendri's principal mission at present, in her capacity as organising secretary of the Tailoresses' Union, is the promotinE of a "rand fancy fair to be held '.a about three months. As to the nature and objects of the fancy fair, Mrs Hendri say* it is intended for the benefit of the eirls encased in the clothing and shirt factories, but the precise shape of the benefit has not yet been decided on. Most probably, however, the proceeds of the projected fair will be devoted to the 1 establishment of? a sort of friendly club for the "iris in a hall or other building where they may meet each other in social reunion, with a library, reading room, piano, ite. The intention is to work on the_ lines of the Dunedin Tailoresses' Lnion, and to follow its example. During Miss Morrison's recent visit to Auckland she was able to render the union excellent service.
