The settling over the Hawkesbury meeting to-night brought about a little more animation in the betting on the Metropolitan meeting. The performance of Royal Rose in the Hawkesbury Handicap brought him into prominence, and he is now equal favorite with Paris and The Possible for the principal event at 100 to 10. The other quotations are : 100 to S The Trier, 100 to 7 Oxide and Lady Thornton, the others from 100 to 5.
