Nearly all -were young, able-bodied fellows.: Work'would she >rtly be provided for 50 men, which woi ild show whether they were bona fide c t not. A deputation of five waited on the ' trustees, and asked to have their passage s paid to Sydney. The Board flatly refuse d to do anything of the kind. The said men had been brought into t he cou'atry in the immigration days at gi reat cost, and he would never be a party to sending its Done and sinew away. The b.ush-felling' season was coming on, and the men would *> e aD^e to get work if they w«nt into the country. The deputation, which was headed by an agitator named Wajd, who had been making himself disagreeably conspic. ,lous lately, were not satisfied, and came b^ again to complain that the food supplied was not fit to eat, and. to ask if they might earn enough to pay their passages by stone-breaking.
