COMMERCIAL.

Oamarc Mail Office, Saturday afternoon. Damp, seasonable -weather still continues, and under its influence the crops are coming away in a very promising manner in all directions. Country reports state that although more rain yet can l>e done with, and would indeed be -welcome, still things are looking rosy, and good crops are anticipated. The promise of a good price for wheat next season is balm to the formers. The cereal locally continnes firm. News comes this morning of an attempt to establish a corner in wheat in Melbourne, where the cereal has rushed up to 6s, and this has had a temporary hardening influence. Gooil lots are keenly inquired after here, but what little there is remaining in the hands of holders the latter do not seem inclined to part with. Oats are very dull, partly, as we have already stated, owing to the quant ity of good grass feed available since the recent rains. The inquiry for seed has also slackened, requirements having now been mostly tilled. Barley remains nominal. There is nothing doing in the cereal locally. Potatoes are hoplcssly flat, and are practically unquotable. Dairy produce is slightly easier, due to the seasonable weather.
