The Dunedin Markets.
(by telegrath.)
(from our own correspondent.) Dunedin, September 16. Store Cattle.—There is a slight inquiry for 'quiet three to four and five-year-old bullocks, in forward condition, very few of which are offering in the meantime. For these buyers are hardly prepared to come up to sellers' values, which doubtless accounts for the limited business passing, but with a continuation of the exceedingly favorable weather at present prevailing, a more eager desire will no doubt be displayed on the part of both buyers and sellers to do business. Store Sheep.—There are fewer transactions of any consequence now transpiring. Odd lots occasionally change hands, but from now till after shearing time the business done in these will be principally confined to dealers, and will be only to a limited extent. Dairy Produce.— The market is now pretty well cleared of both factory and dairy-made cheese. Prices in consequence are hardening, od per lb is freely given for factory-made medium size, and s|d for loaf. Prime salt butter in kegs or boxes is difficult to procure, but with consignments of powdered from the North Island the market is pretty well supplied. Prices are unaltered.
