THE SHAG POINT STRIKE.

(BYTELEG&APH.) Dujtedin, Jane 6. Mr Miller, Secretary of the Maritime Council, to-day forwarded a letter to the owners of the Shag Point mine submitting certain proposals for a Battlement of the dispute between them and the miners, and stating that the men were willing to have the proposal submitted to arbitration. It was farther intimated that in the event of the mine being worked as a non-onion mine extreme action will be taken at an early date.
