The reports received from Hong Kong state that the typhoon season has beon unumally severe, and many wreoks are recorded and numerous lives lost. In the Wenohon district disastrous floods have occurred, and several villages wore washed away, many thousand persons being drowoed. It is rumored that the Wenohon country people have been reduced to saoh straits that they have resorted to canibalism.
