Sydney, April 22, In the Legislative Assembly last night, Mr. Fitzpatrick, leader of the Opposition, gave notice of motion tantamount to a vote of want of confidence in the Government, in consequence of the -latter's.refusal to provide legislation on the question of mining on private property. At a meeting of the Mutual Provident Society yesterday it was proposed to amend the by-law relating to proxies. The proposal was rejected by a large majority.
