(from our own correspondents. ) DUNEDIN. August 22. The Dunedin new electoral roll contains 38G2 electors, and the old 3727 ; Roslyn, new, 1460; old, 1025; Caversham, new, 1195 ; old, 9GI. The Hawkins case has been postponed for a week, to enable Mr. Stout, who defends, to get up his case. For Bruce, the nomination is on the 2nd September, and the poll on the 9th. Mr. W. J. Dyer is announced as the third candidate for the Bruce seat. Mr. James Bennett, farmer, and Mr. A. D. Johnston are announced as candidates for Waikaia. Five small insolvencies were filed this week. Fitzclare and Roberts, runholders, have filed, but there are no particulars.
