WAIAREKA ROAD BOARD.

Hr■ sent : Messrs. Gilchrist (in the chair), Isd de, T. Steid, .Jackson, and Evans. Mr. Baimer (solicitor to the Hoard), ami Mr. Oliver (engineer).

Mr. W. Maude asked that the 'matter be postponed mi!il the arrival of Mr. A. 11. M'lude, v.-i.i: had been appointed to act tor Mr. \V. Fvnwick. The Clerk read a. letter from Mr. \\ . Fen wiclc. intimating that he had no objection to the proposed road, provided adequate compensation was made. The Chairman pointed out that the meeting had he- n called to hear Mr. Fenwick, and they could not see. their way to postpone it. A deputation from the Waitaki Hoard, consisting of Messrs. Duncan, Conned, and Borne, waited upon the Hoard, and pointed out the e sttrse that, their Hoard intended to pursue.

It was resolved, " That, tins Board is of opinion that it is expedient that the proposed road-lino through section !Jl, block IV.. Oama.ru, be. formed, and that t ie lauds be taken in the manner prescribed l-y the Public Works Act, IS7<>. and that a Comimi.toe, consisting of the Chairman of tl; • Hoard, Messrs. Evans. Isdale, and Jackson, be appointed to take joint action with with tho Waitaki Hoard for the purpose e? appointing nrbii triors. " The Board then ad h,timed.
