The final meeting for the season of the North Otago Coursing Club took {:> lace today on the Totara estate. The weather was fine, though extremely cold, the morning breaking with a heavy fog, and doubts were freely expressed as to the chances of the sport being of a very interesting nature to spectators ; but the mist soon cleared off. and. the public were enabled to view the running satifactorily.' There was not marly so large an attendance as on former occasions, there being only about 50 persons present when the first pair were placed in the slips. The meeting was run in eights. Terauka and Puss were the first to compete. Temuka was quickest on his feet, and ran up to the hare, a few yards in front of Puss, who struggled hard to get to the front. She appeared to be unsighted shortly after the start, the: hare taking to some thistles. The lot went over the brow of a hill, out of sight of the public, Tetm\ka appeared to stick Weil to pussy, and was declared the winner. Wildrake and Roving Robin were in the slips a considerable time before being set ngoiug, for though several hares were started, they succeeded in getting away without being sighted by the dogs. Even when they were slipped they did not run as they should have done, and the hare very soon got away from them, the pourge being an undecided one, Spring and Tarn o' Shanter had a very good run, the latter having decidedly the best of the hunt; but very little real work worthy of mention was done by either. Tamo' Shanter was the winner. A splendid course took place between Morning Star and Flora. The latter had somewhat the best of the slips, but Morning Star soon went to the front, and a long hard run took place, both dogs running exceedingly well. _ Th,e h.ape wag a fine strong one, and made the ehase a remarkably hot one, Morning Star, who did nearly all the work, winning with something to spare. The undecided course between Wildrake and Roving Robin was then run off, the former proving a tolerably easy winner. Lulu and Coronet had a fine course, but Coronet had the best of the hunt, doing nearly the whole of the work, but she had the best of the slip, getting away some yards in front of Lulu. The following are the results of the running;— j
